6 Must-Try Restaurants When Visiting Monufia
SPOILER ALERT: They're all in Shibin El Kom.
It's the weekend, you want to do something exciting, go somewhere new, but you've exhausted every option you have. Alexandria? Been there. Ismailia? Done that. Port Said? Duuh. Basically, you've been everywhere because that's the kind of person you are: a geographical prince, princess or gender non-conforming royal. We have just the place for you, however, that we want to bet that you haven't been to yet, and it's Monufia.
Located in the northern part of Egypt in the Nile Delta, the governorate is named after Menouf, an ancient city that used to reign supreme until 1826. So yes, if you're a history buff you'll definitely enjoy Monufia, but if you're a foodie you'll enjoy it even more. Whether you're visiting for work, family or you just want to experience yet another incredible side of Egypt, make sure to stop by these restaurants.
Mawlana
Make no mistake, this Mawlana has nothing to do with the Cairo restaurant that has the same -- they're merely just twinsies. Monufia's Mawlana, however, makes a mean stuffed pigeon with shanks. Yes, kaware3 with 7amam.

Laialy Shamya
If fattah's your name, then this joint is the only game you need to play. That is all we're going to say. That also accidentally rhymed. What a moment.
Location: El Galaa' Al Bahary Street
El Malek Farouk
This is the kind of restaurant you head to if you're feeling hangry. Why, you ask? Because they specialise in grills, which means the sky is the limit. From shish tawooks to kofta, kebabs and so much more. We would absolutely recommend the mix grill, however, because it's the best of all worlds.
Location: Saad Zaghloul Street
Hathout
Hathout is the brand ambassador to Monufians sweet teeth. In other words, they make sure everyone has something sweet to live for. The above picture can speak for itself.

3 SIXTY
Pasta? Pizza? (Chicken) Pane)? Whatever you will need, they will most certainly have it.
Location: Atef ElSadat Street
Saf Saf
Okay, we may have lied. Saf Saf also has a way with sweet creations and desserts. Mostly because of their choco ball that is pictured above. One must try it when in Monufia.
